Unity through Repentance: The Journey to Wittenberg 2017

Chapter 8

Compulsions

You’ve read Chapter 8, and you feel compelled to find out more. Don’t worry, we got you!

A Tale of Two Artworks

The infamous art wall

You have to read Chapter 8 to get the full picture behind this image. I couldn’t find a picture of the whole art wall … maybe Amy burned them all. Ironically, the one picture I did find had Amy in front of it, smiling. She can smile now, actually, because God brings beauty from ashes and can redeem all things.

During this season of healing after my compulsions were uncovered, Amy had a dream in which she saw this painting of my heart being purified by God. An amazing artist friend of ours painted it based on her description from the dream. That friend is

James B. Janknegt, who also lives in Elgin, Texas.

One of many unusual facts about Jim is … he learned to paint even though he has double vision!

“For I taught them the words you gave me and they believed. They believe with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me into this world.”
