Runaway Bay - Chapter 3

Truth

A sculpture in Israel of Jesus teaching the 12 disciples. The sculpture is on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, which can be seen in the background. When she came back from Israel, Amy told me that the Sea of Galilee was her favorite place in Israel: “I think if Jesus were to have come in this day and age, we could have found him jet-skiing on the Sea of Galilee.”

Also from Amy’s trip to Galilee …

She took this picture of a boat. It had recently been discovered by two fishermen on the Sea of Galilee. They extracted the boat mostly intact, and when the scientists dated it they found it was from the time of Jesus.

Amy found it amazing to think that this might be the type of boat that Jesus sailed on, or preached from.

(Or, even more wondrously … to imagine that it was one of the actual ones?!)

The boat is displayed in Ginnosar, Israel.

A couple of words about this website of “bonus material” for Runaway Bay:

  • Amy didn’t create it … Thomas did. You may have already guessed that the “I” in the captions isn’t Amy, but me - her husband.
( She doesn’t really like websites. Or QR codes for that matter. Or bulleted lists like this one - a dead giveaway that she didn’t write this part. )

  • Therefore I don’t mind making the shameless plug - if you are enjoying her phenomenal book, would you be willing to put a review on Amazon? As Amy’s “publishing partner” the one surprising thing I’ve seen is this: people love her writing, and even volunteer their time to email or text her with their responses … but getting them to post a quick review on Amazon is a whole ‘nother level of hard.

Thank you so much!

Amy and I celebrating our 35th anniversary in Phoenix, Arizona.
